I like being able to provide all aspects of dental care and to develop healthy smiles with my patients."

Dr Jim Libby - The Libby Group Anchorage AK

Dr. Jim Libby

Dr. Jim Libby is “living his dream” as he practices dentistry along side his son Justin, in Dr. Justin Libby’s office! It’s a win-win for both as Jim brings a wealth of experience, and he feeds off Dr. Justin’s enthusiasm and modern perspective utilizing the latest technology!

Dr. Jim has a long and interesting dental history in Alaska. Graduating for Loma Linda University School of Dentistry in 1977 at the age of 23, he then opened his first practice in his hometown of Dillingham, AK. With the help of his wife, Pam Libby, they transformed a bedroom into an operatory in their home. Dr. Jim Libby and his family then moved to Anchorage where he grew his East Anchorage practice over the next 30 years to be a model of success in general and cosmetic practices in the state. Upon the
sale of his “city office” in 2007, Dr. Jim Libby has kept his rural Dillingham, AK practice alive and well.

Currently serving as president of World Health Dental Organization (WHDO), Dr. Jim Libby’s position presents opportunity to continue growing leadership skills in unique and remote locations. The flagship project of WHDO is the Maasai Dental Clinic in Kenya, providing year round, free dental care and education to the Maasai people. Flying is at the top of his hobbies and has been a huge part of his Alaskan experience. Dr. Jim Libby shares his adventures with Pam, his wife of 38 years. They, along with their kids and granddaughter, look forward to lots more!

Taluah- Registered Dental Hygienist

Taluah is a lifelong Alaskan born in Kodiak, and raised Anchorage. Taluah was first introduced into the dental field at the age of 17. As a dental assistant she was fascinated by what the dental field had to offer people. The clinical side of dentistry especially intrigued her and she had the desire to care for patients in a more personable way. After 10 years of dental assisting she decided to expand her skills and knowledge and pursued a dental hygiene degree. Taluah graduated University of Alaska Anchorage in 2011 with an Associates of Applied Science in Dental Hygiene.

"I love taking care of my patients and providing them with the best care possible. It is really important to me that a patient understands their own dental health and
what they can do to improve it."

Taluah is married to her high school sweet heart and they have two children. In her free time she enjoys all that Alaska has to offer, including camping, hiking, yoga, photography, and playing outside. Taluah also enjoys traveling and she served as a volunteer hygienist at the Maasai Dental Clinic in Africa in 2017, when The Libby Group teamed up with the World Health Dental Organization.

Rindi - Treatment Coordinator

Rindi was introduced to the office back in 2011 as a patient. After graduating South Anchorage High School in 2013, she took a job opportunity here as a sterilization tech which soon turned into dental assisting. After a few years, she eventually took the position to work at the front desk.

Rindi grew up in Anchorage, Alaska. When she’s not at work she spends her time painting, quoting Will Ferrell movies, hiking with her boyfriend, Jake, and keeping up with their Weimaraner, Maximus and Great Weimar, Atlas on the trails. Her dogs are her whole life, so feel free to ask to see her obnoxious, framed, professional photos of them at her desk. She loves to talk canine.
Rindi’s favorite thing about working for The Libby Group is the tight-knit family atmosphere. Having 13 siblings, work feels like home to her. She is a full time student at UAA, pursuing her degree in Dental Hygiene. She hopes that one day she’ll be able to take care of patients as a Hygienist at The Libby Group.

Ethel Quezada was born and raised in lIocos Sur, a small town in the Philippines.  She graduated from the University of the East College of Dentistry in Metro Manila, Philippineswith a DMD degree. She had her own private practice and at the same time, worked as a retainer dentist at Waterous Hospital.  When Ethel was working in Saudi Arabia, she notes "Just like many tragic romance novels, girl meets boy, girl follows boy to Alaska, boy meets another girl, and well, l'm still here."  Ethel started working for Dr. Darling as a dental assistant in 1988, and never left.

Ethel was blessed with three beautiful children— two girls and one boy.  Her son is currently attending UAA in pursuit of a computer science and computer systems
engineering degree. Both her daughters are nurses; however, one is currently furthering her education in hopes of becoming a medical doctor. Ethel notes, "Despite the many obstacles God has displaced my way, I wouldn't change a thing." As much as Ethel thrives off being in the office, she enjoys her summers fishing and camping with family and absolutely loves going on vacations with her whole family.  Retail therapy is her favorite type of therapy.

Prior to working with the Darling Dental and now The Libby Group team, Ethel notes she did not have any interest in any animals. Fast forward 20+ years and what do you get? Three dogs and a bird.
Katlin - Dental Assistant

Katelin - Dental Assistant

Growing up in the Air Force, Katelin developed a love for traveling and a desire to learn more about the cultures and people around her.  In 2008, her family was serendipitously relocated to this beautiful state of Alaska.

Katelin realized her passion for dentistry when she had the opportunity to go on a dental mission trip to Fiji.  She states, "What I discovered on that trip was that even though the Fijian people were thanking us for the gifts we were giving them, I couldn’t help but feel like we were the ones that had received an even greater gift."

Katelin is currently a full-time student at UAA in pursuit of her bachelor's degree in
Psychology. After I graduate, I plan on continuing my education and following my dream of becoming a dentist.

When Katelin is not dental assisting and facilitating care at The Libby Group or in school, you can find her spending time with family or immersing herself in a good book.
